Forever the Shamrock

I have some Irish in me – not a lot ~ but I do LOVE the vibrant greens, the music, the songs, the beer and brisket, and just the allover feel of St. Patrick’s Day. And of course one of my favorite things is all of the beautiful artwork in the vintage images, including Ellen Clapsaddle ~ so much sweetness and detail. I’ve put together several single banners, both for Lake Tahoe Holidays and my Etsy shop. Most of them have sold, but I thought I would share them anyway.

There are a few more and I will share them later ~ don’t want to bore you all at once.

Happy Pink Saturday to Everyone

Pink Saturday and Page 2

It’s time for Pink Saturday – one of my favorite days of the week. Taking the time to visit new blogs and meet new people and share the Pinks! Thanks again to Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for hosting this most fun event each week.

Last week I shared the cover (subject to the changes I’ve already decided on) of a new book I’m working on. One of the decisions I have made is that it is not going to be “14 Days of Valentines”. It is going to be as big as I decide, and full of the vintage bits and bobs that I love and do not plan on parting with for anyone *grin*. I’ve collected so many items that I can’t bear to part with because I want to enjoy looking at them. This, I guess, is all about “me” and sharing on Pink Saturday.

Wow – you’d think I could do a little better at sizing it to the first photo – but apparently not.

The postcard is again from Bety’s Etsy Shop as is the background paper. The buttons, trim, and pearl from my stash, the die cuts are from the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection and the little nest is by Prima from the Hennytj shop HERE

OBG Blog Hop Today!!

It’s time for our Oldies But Goodies Blog Hop for February. I hope everyone had a sweet Valentine’s Day ~ scroll to the bottom to see our little Valentine ~ I know we’re pitiful. The challenge is to use something we have not used for 6 months. Well, I’ve had this paper for actually a few years and have never used it. I started posting this “book” for Pink Saturday and it will be a work in progress using up older papers and bits and bobs of this and that. Little trinkets and vintage linens I’ve picked up here and there and some I’ve made myself. All of the buttons are vintage ~ found in a shopping foray with my Mother-in-law about 2 years ago to several antique shops ~ the thread in the far right button is the original.This is just one of the “finished” (I think) pages. If you would like to see the cover scroll down to the next post ~ and it actually may not be finished at all…..

And then there’s our little Valentine…

He LOVES his little funny collars, runs and begs when we get them out, and just look at that tongue…

Hugs and Kisses and Valentine Day Wishes

Another Pink Saturday ~ this one all about Valentine’s Day. Stop by Beverly’s at How Sweet the Sound and see all the wonderful creations and Pinks for Valentine’s Day. Thank you Beverly for tirelessly hosting this sweet event each week. One of the challenges of this event is to visit a blog you have not been to before and then direct others to them. Last week I visited Aquascape your Landscape for the first time and was thoroughly delighted. Please take a moment to visit ~ you won’t be disappointed.

I actually started this a couple of weeks back when one of the blogs I visit issued the challenge to use her digital papers to make a project. Well, being who I am ~ I got started right away and then had creative freeze (something I suffer from regularly when I need to produce on demand ~ so to speak) so, needless to say I did not finish it in time for the challenge, but I liked it anyway and so thought I would share it here.

I’ve also started creating this…It won’t be finished for awhile, so hopefully it will give me a few weeks for Pink Saturday. Another quest to use up older supplies ~ I used some handmade paper a friend gave me sometime back to cover each one of the pages I cut from sturdy cardboard (just another thing I tend to keep around for times such as this). This is as far as I’ve made it…

The cover and I still do not think I’m done with it as it just doesn’t sit right yet. The trinket in the center was picked up at a yard sale for 50 cents a couple of summers ago ~ I love the tiny butterfly on the left and dragonfly on the right. If you want a better look at them, just click on the photo.

And here’s my take on it…

I needed a Valentine’s Day card for my husband – something not too “sweet”, but still with the look of a Valentine and in keeping with my own style. Thankfully, my husband likes anything I make for him.

The polka dot paper, the stamped sentiment, the button twine and buttons are all Papertrey Ink products.

There’s still time to join the fun – lots of challenges, LOTS of great new releases and prizes.
