Happy Monday...

I thought I would show you what I have been working on - besides several more of the "Wicked" garlands, I thought I would also do some smaller ones. I like these, and they go a lot faster. Very simple, the only time element is making the resettes either out of paper or crepe paper, they both take a fair amount of time, especially when you're doing them in mass - your eyes start to cross. I love doing them though and they do very well in the shop. Hope you like them!!

I'm off to our family business today - another long one (sigh) Oh well, we must do what we have to do to pay the bills and buy all that papercrafting stuff (lol). Have a wonderful day.

With Gratitude...

This card was made for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge at Flourishes. The challenge was to use red, olive, black and one other neutral - I chose cream. The CS is all Bazzill, and I used the Text CB folder to dry emboss and then accent with black ink the red panel. The stamp is from Flourishes "Thank You" set colored with Prismacolors and blended with OMS. I love the little lattice square done with a MS punch. I ran into this technique awhile back and really like it. You can find it HERE on SCS.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by. Take Care

The last of Summer's roses...

At least for me. We had a long winter and a short summer on top of the fact our summers are pretty short anyway. So I ran out to get pictures of some of my roses and this is what was left. But you know, I do love the look of full blown roses, there's something so beautiful about them - I'm looking for the word I want but it escapes me. Anyway, Happy Pink Saturday to everyone. Pop over to Beverly's How Sweet the Sound to see some amazing pinks of all types - ever seen a pink (really) dolphin??? Take a look, it's a great time.

I haven't been a huge fan of petunias in the past, except for the small Million Bells, but this year this particular pink one caught my eye and I had to have it!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately - I'm trying to get caught up and on top of things at the shop and the Ortho Clinic and I'm working some really long hours. Once I get these necessities out of the way I'll be able to concentrate more on what I really love.

Take care, have a wonderful weekend and try to spend at least a little time doing what YOU love.

It's Pink Saturday...

Happy Pink Saturday everyone. Pop on over to Beverly at How Sweet the Sound to see some amazing blogs, some really beautiful photography, and some really nice and talented people. It's a wonderful way to kind of "chill" on a Saturday morning. My pink this day is the cutest pink bottle brush trees for Christmas. I know it's early, but when I saw these I just had to have them - they look so vintage even though they're new. I got them at Emma's Paperie - just look under new items.

In case you're unfamiliar with her site, they have a huge amount of papers from some of the most well known and loved paper companies and much much more - you can get lost in all the really cool items for cardmaking, scrapbooking, etc. It's one of my favorite places to shop. It seems the trend this year for Christmas is geared toward pastel pinks, greens, blues, and creams - very pretty. Have a wonderful weekend everyone and Happy Pink Saturday!! Oh, and I want to say thank you to everyone visiting my blog and making such sweet comments - I do love hearing from you.

Fit for Royalty....

That's the name of the challenge for August at Flourishes and this is what I have put together. Their new releases are going to be wonderful - there's an adorable baby set "Baby Love" that I can't wait to get my hands on. The party starts tonight on Splitcoast at 9 p.m. central.

For my card I used a lavender and deep purple CS by Bazzil and gold metallic paper I dry embossed with the CB folder "Textile". The image is from flourishes "Sweet Peas" set (LOVE IT!!)and I used watercolors after gold embossing it. The french wired ribbon is from my stash and I believe qualifies as vintage.

Have a wonderful Friday ladies. Try to spend some time today doing what you love...

Take Care,

Can you feel it....

Autumn comes early here and yesterday felt like Autumn - doesn't quite smell like it yet, but it's on it's way. I love fall, it's my most favorite time of the year. My in-laws were visiting last week for Hot August Nights and along with Lake Tahoe Holidays, it all kept me pretty busy so I apologize for not posting more.

My card today was made for the RubberStampChat Sketch Challenge sponsered this week by Flourishes. Flourishes stamps and products are among my most favorite and so I decided to play along. RubberStampChat is new to me, but looks like a great place - go by and give it a look. Simple sketch, and I opted to keep it simple using a base of brown CS from The Paper Co., and Tim Coffey's Fall Mat Pad by K & CO., I just got at Michael's - there are some really pretty fall papers in this pad. I edged each brown panel with a metallic gold calligraphy pen by Marvy, stamped the tulip from Flourishes "Thank You" set over the script dp, colored it slightly with Prismacolors and Koh-I-Noor pencils blended with OMS from Gink K, and accented it with dew drops from Ellen Hutson, LLC - I like the look - very clean and simple, and could be used for women or men I think. I'd like to get the time to do another card for this challenge and dress it up a bit - but we'll see...

Take care everyone

Wicked.....

I know Halloween is a ways away, however for Lake Tahoe Holidays shop here in South Lake, Halloween moves all year long. So, I am constantly doing Halloween and I'm glad, because I do love it. Today is another banner "WICKED" is what we decided on and so far the ones I've taken in are gone, and now I'm working on more along with a couple for Autumn and one for a babies room - I haven't even started on that one. These are also going up on my Etsy shop. The photos are parts of 2 individual banners.

The DPs are from Seneca Pond - gotta love those digital papers - you never run out of what you love, so you don't mind cutting into them - LOL!! The CS is Bazzill, then I used silver Stickles, fun fur, made some pleated rosettes, and then glittered my letters. They are a lot of fun and not hard to make. HOWEVER - I have got to find a better way to display them - laying them on my dining table is just not working for me.

I hope you enjoy them - take care...

A Most Beautiful Award.....

Thank you Sara at Luminous in My Chaotic Dreams for such a beautiful award and a meaningful one too. Everyone wants to know there are those out there that like their style and I'm sure we all at times really wonder about that - so thank you.

This is the "I Like Your Style Award" - Here are the rules:
#1 By accepting this award you recognize that the giver likes your style.
#2 You agree to display this award proudly and include posting back to the giver.
#3 You can share this with as many people as you like, as long as you "like their style"

It's always so hard to pick who you are going to give an award to, because I would love to give it to soooo many people, but time always seems to get in the way. So, I'm sending this award to these three women whose style I definitely like:

Mo from Digital Pencil Too
Peggy from The Wired Angel
Becky from A Diamond in the Rough

Please grab the award and now pass it on....

Have a wonderful Monday and Take Care

I love the quiet of the mornings....

I know I've said that before, but I really do. It's almost 6 a.m. and I'm the only one up. All the kitties, the pup and my husband are still sleeping and all I can hear is an occasional blue jay - seems they're always up and more than ready to talk - but I love them and their sassiness. They are use to me now and come up on the deck when I'm sitting out there, perch on the chair back and just watch what I'm doing, take a little bath in the bird bath and just generally hang out. My bears have not made their appearance this year - not here, not in my neighbors tree sleeping, or in my other neighbors yard playing in their pond - I worry about them and wonder where they are and what are they doing. If you are fairly new to my blog you can see them in my tree and on my roof playing last year here. And now that I see the date on that post - maybe I'm expecting them too early - well, I'll be waiting. They are so darn cute and sweet, and mommy lies under the tree in the backyard napping while the babes play - can't wait, they are one of the highlights of summer.

I'm posting today one of the items recently made for the shop I supply here in town. Basically I'm not a bright colors person, but I loved the juiciness of this Lime Ricky paper from Basic Grey and it just shouted out a summer banner. The CS is all bazzil, the rhinestones are from Doodlebug, and the chipboard alpha is Thickers. I just did not feel like messing with glue and glitter, so I used Stickles on the letters and really like the effect. Kari, the shop owner was thrilled, so I guess it looks o.k.

I really should take some time to improve my photo skills, maybe one of these days. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. Try to take at least a little time out to create - it feeds the soul.

Take Care

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday and Happy Pink Saturday

Good lovely summer morning to you - I can say that because about the highest temp around here ever....is 89 degrees and that's a heat wave for us - we act like it's 95and more. Typical high heat here is 85 - love it, never need an air conditioner just ceiling fans in each of the rooms and it's all good.

Today's post is for Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound - pop on over for some more "Pink" wonderful blogs by very talented people! Also for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge here, we were challenged to make a card with shades of 1 color mixed with white or cream, so here's my take. I used their Coffee with Friends set, baby pink ink by All Night Media, pearls from Ellen Hutson, and CB for the pink panel. The ribbon is from Michael's and the button was in my stash. It just so happened that I did the card in pinks - then I realized I could use it also for Pink Saturday - I've kind of run out of pinks so this was a bonus!

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Pink Saturday!!
