Christmas in July and some news....

My news first - I have been honored by being selected as part of the new DT members for Paper Cupcakes. Nina is the artist and she has some of the cutest digital images around - something for every occasion and personality, and while the cupcakes are really cute - there are many other style images as well. I can't wait to get started! Take a look HERE.

My card for today was made for the Shabby Tea Room Challenge this week "Christmas is July". If you are not familiar with them hop over and take a look - if you like shabby vintage, you'll love these challenges and, there's a lot of inspiration and talent.



The image is from my stash, the Holly DP is by Anna Griffin from Michael's, the CS is Bazzill - also from Michael's, the "JOY" sticker is by Melissa Francis from Emma's Paperie, and the seam binding is from my stash - I look for it at every thrift store I go into. Make sure you read the package, it has to be 100% rayon to make nice bows - once they started making the seambinding from polyester - it's just not the same.

The last 2 of my secret sister challenges. Winter Greeting Card again uses the Cuttlebug Flourished Frame I bought at 7 Kids College Fund - the link is in the sidebar.



The challenge for the 2nd one was to use 2 lollipop flowers. Lots of glitter on this one. Papers are from Seneca Pond and the text paper is from The Vintage Workshop, the image is from Crafty Secrets "Birds and Blossoms" Creative Scraps, brads are by K & Co., gem is from Michaels, sentiment is the Winter Song set from S.E.I., ribbon is wired and I believe from Michael's.

Christmas Morning...

I have the pleasure and the honor of being a guest designer for Cora's "Digital Two for Tuesday". She has some wonderful vintage images that she generously shares on her blog and you know how I feel about vintage - LOVE IT!! You'll also want to visit her other blog Clearly Vintage where there are more images and also a line of clear stamps. They are beautiful and sweet - a real "must have" for those of you who love vintage.



I was given 2 images to choose from, and I chose this one "Christmas Morning". Card stock is by Bazzil and The Paper Co., DP is Dear Santa and Frost Accessory sheet from My Mind's eye. I used a combination of Prisma and Koh-I-Noor pencils with OMS from Gina K, a button from my stash, button twine from Paper Trey, and stickles in Diamond and Christmas Red.

And as an added bonus Peggy from our Designing D.I.V.A.S blog group on SCS posted a challenge for Christmas in July - so here it is AND I didn't even see the part about having to have a snowflake on it, but happily my card already had one on it!

Vintage Santa

First off - If I've left you a message that I have something for you on my blog, please go to the next post for Dec. 2nd - thanks.

In case I haven't said it before - I LOVE anything and everything vintage. I have been collecting since I was a little girl, and now - well - I have a lot, and I STILL keep on collecting. More is more is more in my book. In the past few years I have collected quite a few vintage images and post cards.

Today's cards use vintage images, were made for the shop in town and again are very easy. I cut a standard A2 size top folded card, and rounded the bottom corners. I gold embossed pine boughs from Impression Obsession on the front and some inside to finish it off (I also gold embossed "Merry Christmas" from Stampendous in the inside) The vintage image is mounted on paper I made by painting CS with gold metallic paint, and while still wet sprinkled on super fine gold glitter (LOVE this look)and then glued to the front of the card - done! Quick and easy - the only time is spent waiting for the paint to dry.

Vintage Christmas

Happy Tuesday!! Today I am posting another very simple Vintage Christmas card I put together for the shop in town. The image is from a CD I bought from Ebay, and just simply mounted it on a piece of dark sage CS - I've had it for a long time so I could not begin to tell you where I got it, then mounted it on tan CS. The background stamp is an older one from Hero Arts and I used Ranger Antique Linen ink. I then went over the lettering with a Stardust Gelly Roll pen for a slight bit of sparkle. That's it. Hope you enjoy it.

A Christmas Card

Happy Thursday! My week has just been packed and now my husband and I are fighting a cold - so this is just a quick post as I am working on several things at the moment and hope to post those between now and the end of the weekend. Anyway, this is another card design - extremely easy and fast - for the shop here in town. She has a vintage look to her shop and since vintage is my #1 favorite - it works. Again, very simple (I like simple) and clean lines - no ribbon or real embellishments unless you count the Stardust Gelly Roll pen used to go over the lettering for just a slight bit of glimmer. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture or not. These images are from a CD I bought off of e-bay, and the background is stamped from an older Hero Arts stamp I have called Pine Bough. Hope you enjoy it.
