Be Mine….

Can it really be time for Valentine’s already? I’m so glad – Valentines are just the sweetest, aren’t they? Here are just a couple for you…

Cottage Comfort....

My card today is for the Challenge #15 at The Shabby Tearoom "Cottage Comfort".

I chose the colors from the photo for my take on this challenge.

Here's a close up of the floral embellishment. I gathered a length of lace trim, added a flower and a pearl center. I hand dyed in varigated colors and scrunched the seam binding to get the "look" I wanted, and of course added glitter.

I keep a little terra cotta dish in my front yard for the birds to drink and bathe in and am rewarded with much enjoyment watching the little sweeties go about their day.

Take Care,
Dru

My Wish for Your Happiness....

I do wish happiness for all of you, and that is the sentiment on the inside of my hinge card for our Secret Sister Challenge. It was a lot of fun once I was able to sit down and really work on it. I love the papers - all from Webster's Pages, the scrunched seam binding was hand dyed by myself as well as the scrunching. I have a few "different" colors than I've seen on the web and in the online shops, so I may put some together and put them in my Etsy shop. If any of you are interested, I will post when I get them ready. The dragonfly brad is an old one I had in my stash - loved them but never knew what to do with them really until this card.

The next challenge was "Anything But a Card", so I did tags from vintage wallpaper designs with vintage seam binding and glitter.

Happy Friday everyone and have a wonderful weekend.

Our Blog Group Challenge....

for April was to create a vintage 3D card. I finally got to and finished mine. Sorry about how the darker card stock looks colorwise - it's a really pretty reddish violet, but the color here does not look right. Oh well, it was fun making it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Sweet Vintage Children

Lake Tahoe Holidays is gearing up for Summer - we have Tim McGraw doing an outside concert Memorial Day Weekend and that is the kick-off for our Summer tourism. So, I have been working like a mad woman to get Keri all set up - that means Mother's Day, Father's Day, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas! Not to mention we're incorporating a new line of journals and photo albums with a Lake Tahoe theme. But, I love it all.

I'll be posting vintage style Mother's Day tags for Pink Saturday, but today I wanted to show you these Maude Humphrey children's images from Seneca Pond. Aren't they just the sweetest - such an innocent time - I truly was born in the wrong era. If you like vintage, Seneca Pond is another wonderful website for images, and Eileen is a delight!

Have a sweet spring day!
