Fairies in the Garden…

…and Mandelina is her name. isn’t she sweet and she is from Paper Cupcakes. Marie challenged us this week for Magical Monday, to create a project using hand made pattern paper – nothing store bought.  I love making my own paper totally from scratch – so to speak – but for this card I merely stamped my leaves with Versamark and then clear embossed them – very simple and quick.

Happy Birthday…

…and Magical Monday at Paper Cupcakes! I have a couple of boy birthdays coming up and I thought this little image would just be perfect! Isn’t the little snail adorable?!?

Paper Cupcakes - Joyful Ride (800x600)

The name of this image is “Joyful Ride” and we’re being challenged by Jessie to use punches on our projects and apparently this was definitely a challenge for me. I have many punches, but when I went to make this card – not one of them would work. I used a corner punch to round the corners, decided that wasn’t enough and so then had to make a trip to Michael’s (45 minutes away) to find one that suited me.  This one is by Martha Stewart.  The papers are from Basic Grey’s Lime Ricky paper pack.

Come on by Paper Cupcakes, use the free image available, pick up a new one, or use one you already have and join in the fun. There’s always a great prize for a lucky someone!

Thanks for stopping by,

Happy Monday!!

It’s Magical Monday at Paper Cupcakes and we have been challenged by Gloria to hand make a flower for our project.  My image is Springtime Friends – Isn’t that little bird just the cutest!!! Love his flower umbrella and the little lady bug! My flower is made from a piece of vintage crocheted trim someone had cut from a pillow case and I was the lucky one to find it and snatch it up – love all the wonderful vintage finds at flea markets, garage sales and thrift stores.

Just Because….

This week’s Magical Monday challenge at Paper Cupcakes,  we are challenged by Amber to use 3 patterned papers.  I don’t know about you, but that is definitely a challenge for me so I went with Basic Grey’s “Gossamer”   collection and figured I couldn’t go wrong.  Stop by the Paper Cupcakes challenge blog and join in – there’s always a nice prize for a lucky someone! And don’t forget the Tea party blog hop that starts August 11th – lots of cute new images!

Paper Cupcakes Tulips

Do you know someone that likes to send out little “Just Because”, or “Thank You” cards, maybe even just a quick note.  These beautiful tulips color up quick and the cards are easy to put together. You could make a set in no time and have a great gift for someone special. I love to send pretty cards to people I care for as e-mail to me is just so impersonal,

This image is so versatile  – think of all the possibilities – gold and deep red, or rust for autumn, reds for Christmas, ooooh - or a group of mixed colors – there are so many beautiful tulips, and being one of my most favorite flowers, I can see so many uses for it.
