Celebrate America…

Happy 4th everyone!!

4thofjulyflag3 (2)

Today at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday we are celebrating the 4th and even though the 4th is actually Wednesday town is beginning to fill up in anticipation for the lovely fireworks on the lake. It’s very beautiful. We’ll be right on the lake this year with a group of friends and extended family. It’s Keri (from Lake Tahoe Holidays) and Steve’s 10th anniversary bash as well as 4th of July all at Grandma’s house on the lake with homemade tamales, etc. We’re really looking forward to it – a day to actually relax and just enjoy being. I’m making them an mini album/journal and will share photos maybe sometime next week, but for now…

The Most Beautiful Shoes for Pink Saturday…

…I’ve ever seen. I’ve sewn and created with a variety of media my entire life so I truly appreciate the value of the time, skill, and dedication it takes to create beautiful and detailed handwork such as this. I know you will also. These beauties are from Bobka Baby on Etsy. Please pop on over and take a look. I’ve included a few here ~ but there is so much more. Babies and Brides are the specialties and Julie is a dream to work with…

A Proper Gentleman

That’s the name of the collection from Graphic 45 I used on these cards. I have only a bit left and it will all be gone – still working on using up my older papers. I think you can still find some of these papers around through the Graphic 45 blog. All of them are in my Etsy shop except for this one ~ it’s already sold.

For the Boys

I have a few in my life ~ my husband, my son-in-law, grandson and Father-in-Law, so when I sit to make cards for Father’s Day I usually do a few at a time. And then I think I should put some in my Etsy shop and of course some for Keri at Lake Tahoe Holidays.

This year I came upon a gorgeous vintage image of a salmon in beautiful shades of blue from Karen at The Graphics Fairy.

Each of them are just slightly different ~ appropriate for Father’s Day or any other “male” occasion. A couple of them are in my Etsy shop and the others are saved for MY men.

Last but not least – this is the 1st one I made. A little plain and I may add more to it – but I could not part with it as the button on it is extremely vintage – maybe even antique and has the best patina on it in exactly the shades of blue in the image. I’m saving it for my husband.

Yep, definitely adding more – definitely some paint and I’m not sure what else. The paper is some older Graphic 45 “A Proper Gentleman”, my own recycled cardboard, Papertrey Ink label stamp from their last month’s new release camping set, the sentiment from Flourishes “What a Catch” set (this is a great set with some really cool stamps revolving around fishing). The other label is also from Papertrey Ink, the Just the Ticket set.

Ticket to Ride

That’s the current challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog - Use some mode of transportation and a ticket. Unfortunately I did my usual and now it’s almost time for the challenge to close – but maybe you have time.

Here’s mine…

Papers are by Prima as is the stamp used to make the little ticket tag. The beautiful image is from Ella at Calico Collage.
