Valentine Love Sweetheart Banner

I saw a beautiful Valentine garland online somewhere and immediately knew I had to do something like it. Mine looks nothing like the one I saw, but I love it ~ small and sweet and perfect for stringing across a mirror, small shelf or window.

Each heart is made up of 5 small hearts sewn in the center with red thread, mounted on a pink scallop heart, a red heart that I actually made on my Cricut, and then again on a pink heart. I found the sweetest little decorative mini clothespins at Michael’s and used them to clip the hearts to a piece of button twine ~ that way you can make it as long as you like and you can space your hearts where you would like. And of course, I’ve accented the little hearts with some silver glitter.

My plan was to put it in my Etsy shop ~ but I haven’t yet ~ maybe I’ll do that right now so I can hook up to Common Ground Marketplace. Have you been there? There are some great handmade and vintage items ~ go by and take a look.  Also The Pink Elephant Challenge Blog is challenging us to use pink, red, and white to create a project. Thought I’d give that a try also. And hooking up to Feathered Nest Friday – you’ve got to go by and take a look!

Some of the Greater Things in Life are Unseen

That’s why you close your eyes when you kiss, cry, or dream – a quote by an unknown author and with some serious thought I’m sure one could bring up even more profound greater unseen things in life – but I love this on this card ~ sweet and simple. For Beverly’s Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound – take a minute to drop by and see all the pink lovelies.

On the first card, the paper is Love Struck News Print by Making Memories and on the 2nd card the French document collage is from BitMap along with some odd scraps of other pretty papers I had laying around and some vintage trim found at a garage sale for flea market.

Happy Pink Saturday Friends,

J’ Adore

Don’t you just love Valentine’s Day and all the sweetness it embraces. Pinterest is just overflowing with inspiration both in crafting and recipes. I’ve been busy busy making Valentine’s Day items for a few weeks now and since they’re pink – they are perfect for Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.  So far, a romantic Parisienne feel rather than strictly Valentine’s Day ~ so they can be used for any romantic occasion. All images are from BitMap.

Always

Moxie Fab World is having several challenges to kick off and celebrate the release of the new Paper Crafts Magazine – 75 Creative Card Challenges. I decided I would join in Challenge #7: Use 10 different embellishments . Of course my mind went to “10 different” meaning to me 10 totally different types of embellishment, but apparently not so – when I looked at the other entries – even from the DT - they were several of the same ie. 10 pearls or 10 gems, etc. – so I figured I could play along. I don’t think I could ever think of 10 totally different embellishments on one card – maybe….sorry, I’m rambling.  Anyway, I had just created this for my shop and though it fit the challenge nicely.

My 10 embelllishments: 3 rhinestones, machine stitching, “Always” label, and 5 buttons = 10.  The magazine looks great – will have to have this one! My papers, journaling cards, and label are all from Prima Marketing – probably a couple of lines used together – love their papers!

Take care,

Dru
