Summer Pleasures

Happy Pink Saturday to all of you. I have for the past several years now been somewhat jealous of the beautiful roses I see in the gardens of Pink Saturday participants. Until recently I have lived in South Lake Tahoe and lived in homes with very little sun due to a lot of trees, and a very short growing season. Not a good mix for roses. However, we recently moved to Southern California and I have a few places for Roses. So, I brought my little sticks with me,  planted them and am feeding them, watering them, pampering them all in the hopes that by next Spring I will see my sweet roses begin to live again. If not - I'll go buy more - but the one rose - a Cecil Brunner I have had for over 20 years and it barely survived South Lake Tahoe and is now like I said a stick - so we will see.

Anyway, in the interim, I make myself happy by creating banners to bring in some Summer florals.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound was one of the very first venues I found when I started blogging to get me into the "scene" so to speak. She's been around for years - probably way before I found her and her blog is always a delight. So many people come together on this site to share their lives and the things most fond to their hearts. I don't get to participate nearly as much as I would like, but today I am.

School will be starting up again very soon and so I have made some cards for that occasion - some for the children heading back to school and some for the Teacher they will be meeting soon. I remember those days - all in new school clothes, with a new box of crayons, some drawing paper, a ruler, notebooks - I'm sure it all so much more sophisticated today - buy my memories are fond as I'm sure the memories of children today are also.

These are available in my Etsy shop

Celebrate America

Just a couple of things I made for some of my customers this year and my Etsy shop to celebrate America and the freedoms we enjoy here.

I hope you enjoy them - Take Care, Dru

I Know I'm Bad - But Not This Bad

Apparently there is something wrong with my Live Writer program - my daughter says she is having the same problem. Every time I try to post it says Blogger cannot be found???? Anyway, so here I am after all these years basically starting over with Blogger. It's probably easier than I think it is - but I'm very much a creature of habit and I did like my Live Writer - so so easy! I've been trying to post with Live Writer several times but was unable to do so. So once again it has appeared that I have been away from my blog - but I was trying to be a bit more consistent. Again, so here I am - we'll see how it goes. It's beautiful here in Southern California and even though the move was a bit trying - it was all worth it. I love it here - always sunny, always gorgeous. We are raining today, but raining here at least so far is different. It comes in short waves and then the sun comes out - and everything grows here. Did I say how much I love it here?? So here's a bit of what I've been up to lately and I'm going to try and post to How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday - I hope this works!
I loved working on this and hope to do a Fairy Pocket soon - This is available in my Etsy Shop if you are interested, and you can get to it by clicking on the shop to the right. I seem to be incapable of adding a link correctly right now O.K. that's it for now - I've got to see if this is going to work Take care friends and always make a little time for yourself to create
