Happy Monday on Tuesday

How’s that for a title. I just couldn’t get around to posting this yesterday ~ but I wanted to show you what we woke up to on Monday morning…

Yep ~ Happy Spring! This is so typical for us. I love it, but it sure does make for very late Spring planting and a really short growing season. We don’t even start planting until Memorial Day weekend ~ except for maybe a few very cold hardy flowers.

My husband buys me indoor flowering plants this time of year because ~ he loves me yes ~ but he also knows how antsy I get.

Happy Mother’s Day to Mum

I was so excited to join in the challenge for The Shabby Tea Room, Week # 160 that I did my usual and didn’t really pay close attention – why – because I’m an airhead sometimes. But really, I do not take part in challenges to win anyway – I just want to take part and maybe meet new friends, so ~ the challenge is Blue, White or Cream, and Kraft (the one I didn’t really notice) I had just made this card with coordinating envelope, hadn’t posted it to my blog or my Etsy shop yet, and decided to just play along.

Mom

Another Mother’s Day card or for that matter any occasion you’d like to give a card to '”Mom”. Hooking up to Pink Saturday at How Sweet the Sound hosted by Berverly.

I’ve used vintage ephemera, a beautiful collaged digital image from BitMap,  painted and glittered fleur de lis from Michael’s Recollections collection along with a paper flower ~ also from that collection, and a few of my own handmade embellishments.

I’ve also begun making a decorated glassine envelope for my cards to either hand deliver or slip into a package. My cards do not fit well into a standard mailing envelope due to the embellishments ~ but who wants to just hand someone a card??? So here is my solution… and this card can still be found in my Etsy shop.

Happy Mother’s Day to Grandma

Who do you give Mother’s Day cards to ~ other than your Mother of course? Besides my Mother-In-Law I send one and a gift to my daughter and if I had a living grandmother I would do the same for her. I’m sure I’m not the only one. So this card was created for someone’s Grandmother. I love working with Kraft card stock – it’s so earthy and organic to me and lends itself perfectly to vintage, elegance, rustic, primitive and on and on. I think too, that using corrugated cardboard with paint and glitter complement it so well . I ran into a challenge website just for Kraft card stock - The Kraft Journal and so I decided I would take part in this week’s challenge “Anything Goes”.

Along with the card I created a decorative glassine envelope for hand delivering or tucking into a present as most of my cards do not do well in a standard mailing envelope.

Anyway, pop on over to The Kraft Journal and check it out. If you love Kraft card stock, you’ll love this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and take care,
