It’s Pink Saturday today…

and I am so honored to be a featured blogger on How Sweet the Sound hosted by Beverly. Please visit her blog to see some beautiful blogs by a vast array of talent. You will surely enjoy your visits.

As I have mentioned, I seemingly  have kind of run out of pinks so I had to do some searching, and I found…

Pink tulips from my husband – taken in nearly dark – maybe totally dark

Pink Tulips from John

Pink Fairies having a secret conversation on what looks like to me - a Pink day

PS - Fairy Children

A  special order banner recently completed for a sweet little girl in lavenders and pinks

Banner - Amy

More vintage linens – a tablecloth found at our local flea market

 004 (800x600)

And look at this sweet little Christmas music box – also found at the flea market and if you’re wondering where the pink is….. it’s the blanket and the pillow – and, the music box still plays while turning the handle, but I can’t make out the tune.

 003 (800x600)

And some more new tags and cards for my Etsy shop

Bird Tags - Small Pink Full Shot

Christmas Tags - Little Girl in Pink

Card -Pink and White Christmas 1

And I forgot – so this is a late Happy Halloween

Halloween Placque - Witch 2010 (577x800)

I hope you have enjoyed your visit and please come again. Thank you Beverly!

It’s Magical Monday again…

and sweet Gloria has challenged us this week to use any image we would like, along with die cuts.

I chose this beautiful sentiment along with a mix of  Papertrey and Spellbinder’s dies to make an Autumn card. I can’t seem to get enough of Autumn colors and projects this year – I just love the warmth of the season and all the beautiful colors. The sentiment is “Bounty of the Season”.

And here’s a closer look…

Come on over to the Paper Cupcakes Challenge Blog and play along! We’d love to see your creations, and as always there is an awesome prize for one lucky someone.

Thanks for coming by…

Happy Pink Saturday…

It’s been such a long time since I’ve been able to participate and I’m so happy to be able to do so. For a look into a lot of really beautiful blogs, pinks, and talented people, pop on over to Beverly’s at How Sweet the Sound and spend a few delightful minutes to refresh yourself and see some new perspectives. It is time well spent.

My pinks today are from the last hurrah of Summer here at the Lake. We have had the most beautiful Autumn and our flowers are still blooming – this is rare for us as they are usually frozen dead sticks by now. So this year we are spoiled.  One of our neighbors was moving off the hill last year and was having a garage sale. I’ve been looking for an old wheel barrow for a very long time now and here it was just waiting for me – and the best part – she gave it to me!! I couldn’t wait to get it planted with flowers, so that was one of the first gardening projects this summer and I am so pleased with the way it turned out. There are other colors besides pink of course, but the pink is definitely in there.

The storms are moving in, rain starting tonight, possible first snow storm by Tuesday. The flowers may last through the first couple of light storms, but not for long. They will be gone, and I will miss their beauty when I walk outside, but I’m already planning on what I will put in there next year – I think only pink, white, and greens.

Pink Birds of Flight1

I’m also showing you a new tag that’s going into my Etsy shop. This is one of my favorites – beautiful vintage birds in pink, accented with what else but glitter, and tied with pink and cream vintage seam binding.

Happy Pink Saturday everyone and thanks so much for stopping by.

Mouse Candy…

PPC - Halloween Tag

Isn’t this just the cutest image – I love this little mouse with his witches cloak and hat! I’m hosting the challenge for Paper Cupcakes this week, and am challenging everyone to make a tag. It can be for any occasion you like and you can use any image you like. There’s always a freebie on the Paper Cupcakes Challenge Site – so come play along with us!  If you’re interested in this particular image, go here and scroll to the end of the page.

I didn’t photograph this very well, you can just barely see (I hope) the spider web embossed background (Cuttlebug folder) The image was colored with pencils and blended with OMS. Just a fun little tag.

Thanks for dropping by.

Magical Monday and Happy Anniversary…..

…to my Mother and Father-in-law. I’m always so late with everyone – it’s shameful, but they love to receive a handmade card from me, so I always seem to redeem myself – lol!  While I was working on this for the Paper Cupcakes challenge – I thought it seemed appropriate – Fall anniversary, Fall card. Unfortunately the image seems a little blurred so it’s hard to see the detail and the stickles I used to sparkle up the flowers – just a little.

PPC Deco Vase 2

Carol is challenging us and you this week to use a frame in your card making or project! I made mine from Spellbinder’s Nestabilites to accentuate this sweet little vase of flowers designed by Nina.  Come and play along with us this week, there’s always a great prize.

The paper is older I believe and is part of the 29th Street Market line from My Mind’s Eye, pearls are from Ellen Hutson, LLC, the trim I picked up at Michael’s or JoAnn’s sometime back, and the punch is by Martha Stewart from Michael’s – one of my favorites. I then used a Scor-pal to do the scoring at the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by and all the sweet comments you leave – I truly appreciate them.

Skating By…

That’s the name of this sweet little penguin image – isn’t he adorable! For our Paper Cupcakes challenge this week, Pat has challenged us to use any image we wish to make a Christmas card with a snowflake.

PPC Skating By

My snowflake is made by layering a few different punched snowflakes from MS and EK Success, then blinging them up with a red gem and some Stardust Stickles. I used Prismacolor pencils with OMS and some more stickles on his little hat!

Stop by the Paper Cupcakes Challenge Blog and join in the fun. There’s always a great prize! Happy Magical Monday everyone!

It’s World Card Making Day….

NEW_WCMD_2010

And so, for my post today I have a few items I’ve been hoarding. I hope you enjoy them….

Tag - Fall - SNR Challenge

I’ve used the CB “Victoria” embossing folder on the CS, a MS gem I colored with a Sharpie marker to get the color I wanted, and a piece of my own handmade DP – made with layers of paint, gesso, stamped images, gold glitter, etc. that I hoard because I only made one piece and when that’s gone, that means I have to make more even though I thoroughly enjoy very much making my own papers. The scrunched seam binding is my own, and the button is a treasured find from an antiquing jaunt with my mother-in-law last month. The image is one I have picked up along the way – I love the beautiful colors and detail of this image.

Next is a card I put together for Paper Cupcakes blog hop with CDAC – Crafters Digital Art Center. This is CDAC’s first blog hop and it goes through the 3rd. If you’d like to take a look at a large group of digital image artists, you’ll enjoy this  hop. Just click on the badge in my sidebar at the right, then click on “Events” and follow the directions.  This is one of Nina’s new images and I just love all the detail she added – the acorn cap and belt, the leaf fringe at the bottom of her dress, and the scrollwork in her wings! The image can be found HERE.

Autumn Blessings - Front View

I also have an “Autumn” banner that I have not posted  yet

Banner - Autumn

A mini album for treasures – I absolutely loved putting this together! All the little bits and pieces of this and that…
